Microsoft’s India store Hacked, Usernames & Passwords Stolen

Bad news for Microsoft, as the Indian Microsoft store has been hacked and the usernames and all passwords had been stolen. The hacker is from Chinese group called Evil Shadow team and has performed the act Sunday night on the www.microsoftstore.co.in and has stolen all the username and passwords of people who used the website for shopping the Microsoft products and services.

It was quite surprising for everyone that a guy conquer the powerful security of the world’s biggest IT Company. Actually more surprising was the loophole from Microsoft only. It was reported that the entire list of user name and password were stored in simple pain text file and there was no encryption algo on it.

Later the website was taken offline and it has been advised to users to change their passwords as soon as they logged in to the website. Microsoft is investing on the issues and looking to tighten the security thread of the website.
