How to Root Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100 on XWKL1 Gingerbread 2.3.6 Firmware

Well after fixing up the issue of the noise reduction and cancellation, its time now to root the Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100 on the XWKL1 Gingerbread 2.3.6 firmware. In the due course of this post, you will get the procedure to root your device to install any custom ROM.

Disclaimer: Please note that, the published rooting procedure is only for the Galaxy S2 GT I9100 and use of these steps on other device can corrupt the OS and can even do further damage. It is strongly recommended to try the procedure at your own risk. This site would not be responsible for any kind of damage or error occurs to your device in any case.

Pre-requisite:
As the published procedure will tweak the OS registry and there is high possibility of data loss, we recommend taking the backup of your important data like SMS, contacts, multimedia files and other stuffs. We also recommend having at least 50 percent of the battery backup for the complete rooting process to be performed with any issues caused due to battery.

Let’s now proceed to the steps to root the Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100 on XWKL1 firmware:

Step1: Firstly you need to download the root package for Galaxy. The extract the downloaded package, on extracting you will see the executable files as show in the image below.

Step2: Now you need to open the odin executable file for which you need to bring your phone in the download mode. Turn off the device and then ‘ON’ it again by holding, volume down + Ok button and power key simultaneously. Once your device successfully entered the download mode, connect it to the PC via USB cable.

Step3: Click on the ‘PDA’ and then select the name of the file as ‘CF-Root-SGS2_XW_INU_KL1-v5.0-CWM5’. Now double click on the file and it will start the rooting process. Within a minute or so, your device will automatically restart.

Step4: Once you see the home screen, disconnect the device and turn it off to bring it in the recovery mode.

Step5: For bringing your device in the recovery mode you need to press the volume down + Ok Button and the power button simultaneously. Once your device successfully entered into the recovery mode, Wipe out the cache and then reboot the device again.

That’s it, when your device will boot you will see the CWM app and the Super use app in the list of the application. This means your device is now rooted and ready for any Custom update.
