The head to head between two competent products is always interesting to watch and so interesting will be to watch Apple iPhone 4S and HTC Radar against each other. Let us see them one on one on the following aspects:
- Form factor
- Display
- Operating system
- Processor
- Camera
- Storage
- Final Thoughts
Form factor:
Apple iPhone 4S dimensions are 115.2×58.6×9.3mm and weight 140g compared to 120.5×61.5×10.9mm size and 137g of weight of HTC Radar. iPhone 4S, although looks alike to its predecessors but still there are people who still loved it. No doubt Apple iPhone 4S has an appeal which can not be compared. On the other hand Radar is also a kind of clone of the extensive line by HTC. However it looks good, but nothing new which will appeal a lot to users. It seems in the form factor, it is quite hard to beat Apple iPhone 4S.
Display:
iPhone 4S with its Retina Display has a long way to go. The 3.5 inches display offers crystal clear visuals on the resolution of 640X960 pixels with pixel density of 330 ppi. The new iPhone 4S also has LED display backlit capacitive touch screen which offers multi touch input. The device is also equipped with the features like gyro sensors and accelerometer. For preventing the screen from fingerprints and smudges, the display is being coated from oleophobic surface.
Compared to this, HTC Radar has bigger screen and it comes in 3.8 inches S LCD touch screen display which offers better brightness, color schemes in less power utilization. The display offers the resolution of 480X800 with the pixel density of 246 ppi. The screen is guarded by Gorilla glass to prevent the scratches.
In spite of having big screen, HTC Radar is unable to beat the Apple in this round as well. Apple is ahead with better screen resolution and pixel density.
Operating System:
Apple comes with iOS 5 which is introduced recently and there many number of new features being added to the OS to make it more user friendly and useful for users. Fast browsing experience, assistant attributes like Siri and various other lucrative features comprised in iOS 5 make it a top breed in terms of user experience.
On the other hand, HTC Radar is powered by Windows Phone Mango; it is a new breed from Windows which is easy to operate and quite user friendly. The OS offers deepest integration to social networking, instant messaging, offers brilliant support to streamline your multiple inboxes for email accounts. There are several new attributes which will definitely enhance the Mango experience and will provide you the convenient environment to access your phone features to the fullest.
HTC gave touch competition to Apple, but still cannot afford to beat the essence of iOS5.
Processor:
In terms of processor, iPhone 4S runs on dual core ARM cortex A9 with the A5 chipset compared to Radar which runs on single core processor which is of 1 GHz. In terms of GPU also Apple is ahead of HTC in terms of visual aspect and hence it is winner in this round.
Camera:
The 8 MP Camera with the capability to capture stills at 3264×2448 pixels and HD videos at 1080p with the features like touch focus, image stabilization, face detection and geo tagging, Apple is perfect for the one who loves to capture minute moments of life.
On the other hand Radar is equipped with 5 MP main Camera which supports stills at 2560х1920 and HD video at 720p. Radar has the features like LED flash, auto focus, digital zoom and it also allows video calling with the front VGA camera. Even all these capabilities failed to support HTC to beat Apple in terms of picture capturing capabilities. No doubt our vote is to Apple iPhone 4S.
Storage:
HTC offers 8 GB of internal memory compared to 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB variants from iPhone 4S. Both the handsets are supported by 512 MB RAM and they both do not support external memory card.
Final Thoughts:
HTC Radar is a nice handset with some of the unique and excellent capabilities to provide a highly interactive environment on the palm. Compared to this, iPhone 4S is much smarter as the smart phone with brilliant looks, better OS and stands high in terms of technical aspects and which makes it a rich platform with high interactive features. We can conclude that in terms of various aspects we put HTC and Apple head to head, Apple iPhone 4S is ahead of HTC Radar and Apple still hold the charm to be the hottest smart phone in the arena.
